Killed him along with 4 other mallards. They were with 5 Woodies and A drake Wood Duck was bagged with him. Since all of the cold weather of late, the mallards have gone to the open water of the creeks and this bird had it figured out as how to make it with the iced up ponds and sloughs everywhere.

I thought maybe he was banded in the last month by some kind of catch and release program by the state. Had no idea that he was raised. We took 3 Greenheads over the weekend, all with Waterfowl bands on them.

I did not realize this bird was hand reared until I checked out the AWA Website. The bird seemd in very good shape with excellent plumage.
